The internet,
or World Wide Web, is becoming an essential part of conducting
business in the 21st century, and use of the internet is
a trend that has been forecasted to grow at an phenomenal
rate over the next ten years. The internet is used as a
means of locating and utilizing resources such as contact
information, driving directions, company information, and
to provide a means of correspondence.
Zimet Associates creates custom information delivery
systems, and interactive online applications utilizing technologies such as SQL,
Java Script (DHTML), Active Server Pages (ASP), Flash™, and Flash™ Action Scripting,
Flash™ Communication Server, Cold Fusion®, Perl (CGI), and Java. Zimet Associates
offers high end server-based development modules through DLL, and COM and COM+
development, and can enhance communication and the like through CDO, and Microsoft
Exchange Server integration. Our experience in security and encryption will assure
those that are serious about data protection that we can provide peace of mind
through encryption algorithms, Secure Socket Layers (SSL), hardware acceleration
experience, Client/Server Certificates, and Firewalls and Microsoft® ISA (Internet
Security and Acceleration) Server.
The essentials of common web development projects can be broken down into 8 basic elements: ASP/Cold Fusion Coding, Basic HTML Coding ,
Copy Writing,
Database Development/Administration,
Design,
Flash,
Project Management, and
Strategy. Some of these elements are required for even the most basic of web sites, and others only for the richer content delivery systems. Zimet Associates is here to help you understand which building blocks your company needs to utilize to accomplish its goal to establish a web-presence or reach new levels of success with your business.
ASP/Cold Fusion, Coding
Active Server Pages enable web developers to make their sites dynamic with database driven content. The code is mainly written in VB Script, and it is produced on the server of the web site instead of the browser of your web site visitors. The server reads the ASP code and then translates it to raw HTML. This means that the web site owner doesn't have to worry about the visitor having the right tools to view the the web site's dynamic content.
Basic HTML
Hypertext Markup Language, the coding language used to create Hypertext documents for use on the World Wide Web. HTML looks a lot like old-fashioned typesetting code, where you surround a block of text with codes that indicate how it should appear, additionally, in HTML you can specify that a block of text, or a word, is linked to another file on the Internet.
Copy Writing
An element of web site development that is often overlooked is the importance of good copy writing. Through organization and development your site will communicate your company's exact message.
Database Development/Administration
The function of managing the physical aspects of the data resource, including physical database design to implement the conceptual data model; and database integrity, performance, and security.
Design
Design, in contrast to analysis, involves much less discussion with the customer about the detailed meaning of the system. Design is about deciding on structures which can be justified as being necessary in terms of efficiency, flexibility, re-use, and other factors, that is, in design, there is a significant choice in the structures we produce. The second stage in the life-cycle of a software development project - intended to determine precisely how the functions required of a computer system can be achieved. A number of design solutions may be examined prior to design decisions being made about the structure and implementation details. Flash
Flash™, a popular authoring software developed by Macromedia®, is used to create vector graphics-based animation programs with full-screen navigation interfaces, graphic illustrations, and simple interactivity in an antialiasing, resizable file format that is small enough to stream across a normal modem connection. The software is ubiquitous on the Web, both because of its speed (vector-based sites, which can adapt to different display sizes and resolutions, play as they download) and for the smooth way it renders graphics. Flash files, unlike animated but raster graphics Graphics Interchange Format and JPEG, are compact, efficient, and designed for optimized delivery.
Project Management
Defining a project properly, fine-tuning the changes needed during the early stages of the evolution process, monitoring progress through the mid-stage of the life-cycle, and thorough testing at the end. This in hand with effective collaboration reduces the amount of time spent dealing with unforeseen challenges and problems so time can be spent on form, functionality, and making the vision you desire a tangible reality.
Strategy
A statement that describes how the program will achieve its objective. That is, which activities will help the program achieve its objectives most effectively and feasibly.
A general direction set for the organization and its various components to achieve a desired state in the future. Strategy results from the detailed strategic planning process.
