A LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)
is an essential part of an analytical or research
laboratory, or any organization that tracks samples,
tests that are performed on those samples, and the
results of each test.
Zimet Associates (ZA) has been intricately involved
in all aspects of the computing and data needs of
a major NJ analytical laboratory for close to 15
years (see customer spotlight). During the mid 1990’s
the laboratory purchased a Microsoft Access based
LIMS, Sample Master, from Accelerated Technology
Laboratories (ATL). Zimet Associates has implemented,
supported, upgraded, customized and extended this
LIMS. During this period ZA has forged a relationship
with ATL’s management and technical staff.
The relationship has steadily grown to become a
strategic partnership with ATL; ZA is supporting
their clients in the Northeast and working closely
with ATL to develop extensions to their product
line.
Zimet Associates has also supported a second Northern
NJ Lab and the computing needs of several Engineering
and Environmental Firms, which utilize the services
of these labs. This depth has enhanced our ability
to develop creative solutions to enhance the laboratory’s
LIMS since we not only understand the needs of the
Lab but we also understand the needs of their clients.
Our knowledge extends beyond the labs sample tracking,
testing, and reporting needs to include the sampling
processes and the regulatory requirements of the
consultants.
